The objective of this page is to update our position as often as possible, this is obviously dependant on internet access. We have advised our children and close friends, our plan is to keep this page at least one month out of date so they do not know our true whereabouts!

Route Listing 2013 Summary

This year (2013), our plan is to drive to Turkey, beginning mid-April and spending 3-4 weeks, or perhaps more, crossing Europe. Our route is flexible, we have only one destination defined, Lake Garda, Italy, Ann's choice? Our chosen route will take us from Calais, through Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Switzerland and then into Italy. Leaving Italy we will make our way east through Slovenia, Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia, Bulgaria and finally into Turkey. We spent some time exploring central Turkey as we crossed it and then finally arrived in Kas, on the south coast, a trip of approximately 4800 miles over land. Once back to Sailaway we leave the car in the marina and make our way east, towards Cyprus, returning to Kas for the winter and the return trip to the UK by road.

With a strange twist of fate, Ann has to fly home to the UK due to the hospitalisation of her mum. The return trip to the UK became a solitary drive of almost 2900 miles over a period of five days - not a trip I would care to repeat on my own!
